Prof. Wang Jenn-Hwan is a Chair Professor at the Graduate Institute of Development Studies, National Cheng-Chi University, Taiwan. He previously served as Dean of Research and Development (2006–2008) and currently directs the Center for China Studies. He is also the editor of the journal Issues and Studies. His research focuses on Taiwan’s economic development, comparative East Asian societies, and China’s development model. Recent work explores environmental politics in China, particularly the hydro-social dimensions of economic development and contradictions in China’s climate policies involving fossil and hydroelectric energy sectors. His publications include The Limits of Fast Follower: Taiwan’s Economic Transition and Innovation (2010) and Mainland China and Cross-Strait Relations (2011). Articles appear in journals like International Journal of Urban and Regional Research and Journal of Development Studies.
