Wade Huntley, Ph.D., is a Senior Lecturer at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS), holding a joint appointment in the Department of National Security Affairs and the Cyber Academic Group. He serves as Program Director for NPS Regional Education Courses supporting the Defense Security Cooperation University (DSCU). His expertise spans Cyber Security, Nuclear Weapons Proliferation, and East Asian Regional Security. Dr. Huntley has been with NPS since 2009 and collaborates with U.S. defense, energy, and intelligence agencies on emerging technologies' strategic implications.
Research focuses on cyber capabilities, AI, autonomous systems, directed energy, and North Korean nuclear/missile development. Teaching interests include Cyber Policy, WMD Non-Proliferation, Northeast Asian Security, and International Relations Theory. He previously directed the Simons Centre at UBC (Canada) and served as Associate Professor at Hiroshima City University's Peace Research Institute (Japan).
Dr. Huntley has authored four edited volumes and over 50 peer-reviewed articles/chapters. His consultative work involves scenario generation for future policy challenges, particularly in global security domains.
