Dr. Vsevolod Ostapenko is an Assistant Professor in the Durham University Business School, specializing in Macroeconomics. He currently serves as Program Director for the MSc Economics, Year Tutor, and Placement Tutor for Undergraduate Economics students. His teaching responsibilities include modules such as Macroeconomics, Global Economic History, and Introduction to Economics.
Prior to joining Durham in 2023, he was affiliated with St. Petersburg University and held a visiting position at the Higher School of Economics’ St. Petersburg campus. He has extensive experience in curriculum design, including creating specialized courses on applied macroeconomic policy and delivering guest lectures at Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg (2019). He is also a member of the Smolny Beyond Borders initiative since 2022, contributing to Liberal Arts education models.
His research focuses on macroeconomic policy, monetary economics, the history of macroeconomic theory, and industrial policy.
