Vincent Chandler

Vincent Chandler is an Assistant Professor of Teaching in Jazz Studies at Wayne State University, where he teaches courses including Jazz Big Band, Jazz Combos, Jazz History, and Jazz Theory. A native Detroiter, he has performed with jazz legends such as Herbie Hancock, Marcus Miller, and Roy Hargrove.

Chandler is a renowned trombonist, composer, and arranger. His research and artistic interests encompass jazz performance (especially trombone), jazz composition and arranging, and jazz history. He is celebrated for his expressive solos and innovative contributions to the Detroit jazz scene.

He has released a solo album titled 'Embraceable' (2014) and has been featured on recordings by Roy Hargrove ('Emergence') and James Carter ('At the Crossroads').
