Victoria R Gerson is a Lecturer in the Department of Graphic Design at the University of Florida’s School of Art + Art History. Born and raised in Miami, FL, she holds a BFA from the University of Florida and a Master of Graphic Design from North Carolina State University. Her research focuses on leveraging emerging technologies like virtual reality and 3D environments to address societal challenges such as climate change and science education. She developed a course on Design Activism during her residency as a Cynthia Woods Mitchell Scholar-in-Residence at the University of Houston.
At the University of Florida, she teaches undergraduates and graduate students, emphasizing socially conscious design practices. She serves as faculty advisor for Vox Graphis, the student-run graphic design club, fostering community engagement through design. Her work bridges technology, education, and activism, advocating for design as a tool for societal impact.
