Victor Jatula

Dr Victor Jatula is a Senior Lecturer in Communications and Journalism at Brunel University London, affiliated with the Department of Social and Political Sciences within the College of Business, Arts and Social Sciences. His research focuses on the intersection of press, politics, and development in emerging democracies of the Global South, with a specialization in Nigeria's media landscape and political economy of mass media.

He investigates factors influencing democratic consolidation in post-war societies like Liberia and Sierra Leone.

His publications span themes including Nigerian elections, gender politics, media economics, and post-conflict stabilization. Key journals include Modern Africa, Journal of African Elections, and Cogent Arts and Humanities. Research trends emphasize media's role in democratization, socio-political analysis of African societies, and cross-cultural studies of Black diasporic experiences.
