Victor Adetula is a Professor of International Relations & Development Studies at the University of Jos, Nigeria, where he has been affiliated since 1988. He holds a PhD in Political Science (Political Economy & Development Studies) from the University of Jos (1996) and an M.Sc. in International Relations from the University of Ife (1987). His research expertise spans international relations, peace and conflict studies, politics, and regional integration across Africa. Adetula has held visiting professorships at institutions such as the University of Uppsala (2013) and Jawaharlal Nehru University (2011). His work emphasizes democratic governance, electoral systems, and the geopolitical role of emerging powers like China in Africa. He previously served as Head of Research at the Nordic Africa Institute until 2020.
