Dr. Vicky Margree is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Humanities and Social Science at the University of Brighton, affiliated with the Centre for Applied Philosophy, Politics and Ethics. She specializes in feminist theory, literary fiction, and Victorian/Edwardian literature. Her current projects include co-editing a Routledge volume on 'Neo-Victorianism and Transnational Memory' and authoring a Polity Press book on radical feminism. She holds a DPhil from Sussex University, focusing on philosophical and literary explorations of 'madness' and 'abnormality.'
Education: BA (Philosophy and Literature) and MA (English Literature: Critical Theory) from the University of Sussex, followed by an AHRC-funded DPhil in English Literature there.
Research Interests: Feminist philosophy, reproductive politics, gothic/supernatural fiction, science fiction, utopianism/dystopianism, and Victorian/Edwardian fiction. She co-founded the Short Story Network and supervises research in women’s writing, feminist theory, and short fiction.
Professional Activities: External examiner at the University of Hull since 2018. Organized conferences on topics like 'The Politics of Reproduction' and 'Neo-Victorianism.' Peer-reviewed for journals like Victorian Popular Fictions.
