Vernon Coaker

Lord Vernon Coaker is a Visiting Professor of Politics and Policy at the University of Nottingham, contributing to the Rights Lab's Law and Policy Programme. His research focuses on strategies to combat modern slavery, human trafficking, and child protection policies, with emphasis on international cooperation and business accountability. A former Member of Parliament (1997-2019), he held key ministerial roles in policing, education, defense, and Northern Ireland affairs.
