Uffe Bergeton is an Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Chinese Program at the Department of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His research focuses on pre-Qin (pre-221 BCE) Chinese society and thought, integrating formal linguistic methodologies to explore proto-anthropological concepts and epistemological theories. He is currently working on a book tracing lexical changes in Warring States period texts.
- Research Interests: Early Chinese philosophy, comparative studies with ancient Greece, reclusion theories, and historical linguistics
- Teaches courses on Chinese culture, classical language, Confucianism, Daoism, and Asian civilization
