About
Tyler J. Curiel is a Professor of Medicine, Oncology, and Microbiology and Immunology at Dartmouth College. His lab focuses on the immunopathogenic basis of human disease, particularly advancing cancer immunotherapy strategies such as immune checkpoint blockade, tumor-intrinsic PDL1 signals, and engineered cytokines like IL2. His work bridges bench-to-bedside translation, with clinical trials currently underway at Dartmouth and UT Health San Antonio.
- Specializes in tumor immunology and immunotherapy
- Developed proprietary orthotopic mouse cancer models
- Collaborates on human clinical trials
His research explores the pathogenic roles of regulatory T cells and tumor-specific immune evasion mechanisms. Students in his lab gain expertise in high-dimensional flow cytometry, CRISPR/Cas9, genetically modified mice, and data presentation. The lab’s work spans breast, bladder, ovarian, lung, prostate, melanoma, and glioblastoma multiforme cancer models.
