Tsitsi Musasike

Tsitsi Musasike is an Affiliated Faculty member at the Institute for Global Sustainability (IGS) and a Professor of the Practice of Global Development Policy at Boston University’s Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies. She is also a Core Faculty Member of the Global China Initiative at the Global Development Policy Center (GDP Center). Her roles include teaching courses on ‘Financing Development in Africa’ and ‘Climate Change & Development,’ and leading research on South-South cooperation, renewable energy financing in Southern Africa, and infrastructure project development.

Research & Expertise: Her work focuses on development finance, climate change adaptation in Africa, renewable energy project structuring, and financial inclusion for marginalized groups. She has over 20 years of experience in infrastructure financing, private equity, and investment banking, with a 15-year specialization in renewable energy projects, particularly under South Africa’s Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme.

Leadership & Engagement: She chairs the Small Enterprise Development Sub-Committee and serves on the Financing Sub-Committee of South Africa’s Energy Sector Gender Ministerial Advisory Council. She mentors youths and women in project financing and bankable project structuring.
