Tristan Hopper

Dr. Tristan Hopper serves as an Assistant Professor in the Therapeutic Recreation program within the Faculty of Kinesiology and Health Studies (KHS) at the University of Regina. He teaches undergraduate courses in therapeutic recreation as well as graduate-level qualitative research methods courses.

Dr. Hopper's research focuses on enhancing experiences of youth in recreation and leisure settings. His scholarly work examines how therapeutic recreation programs can be optimized to better serve young people through qualitative research approaches. He encourages students to draw upon their unique lived experiences to inform their professional practice in recreation fields.

His expertise bridges practical therapeutic recreation programming with rigorous qualitative research methodology, particularly as applied to youth experiences in recreational contexts. Dr. Hopper's work contributes to developing more meaningful and effective recreation programming for young people across various settings.
