About
Tristan Asset is a CNRS Research Fellow at the Institute of Chemistry and Processes for Energy, Environment and Health (ICPEES) under the University of Strasbourg. He leads the Electrochemistry and Energy Conversion (ECE) team with a focus on 'understanding to build' electrocatalytic systems.
- Doctorate in Electrochemistry from University of Grenoble Alpes and University of Liège
- Postdoctoral research at University of Montpellier, University of California Irvine, University of New Mexico and University of Grenoble Alpes
His research centers on electrode-electrolyte interfaces and local reaction environments through Spectro-Electrochemical Methods. Key application areas include HT-PEMFCs (high-temperature proton exchange membrane fuel cells) and Alkaline Electrolyzers for hydrogen production.
Recent publications demonstrate expertise in platinum-group metal-free catalysts, carbon support engineering, and operando characterization techniques like X-Ray Absorption Spectroscopy. He coordinates multiple European research projects including DECODE, NIMPHEA, and DAEMONHYC.
- Co-supervisor of 5 PhD students (1 defended)
- Co-organizer of international EcatalytiX conference
- Regional H2 technology events organizer
