Dr. Nicolas Kaeffer is a CNRS Junior Professor at the University of Strasbourg, leading the Molecular Electrocatalysis for Synthesis and Energy (MeCSE) team within the Laboratoire d'innovation moléculaire et applications (LIMA). Previously, he was a Group Leader at the Max Planck Institute for Coal Research (MPI CEC) since 2020. His research focuses on sustainable electrocatalytic methods using renewable electricity and abundant feedstocks for organic synthesis and energy storage. He holds a PhD from Université Grenoble Alpes (2016), a postdoc at ETH Zurich (2016–2020), and a Master’s from Paris Centre (2012). He has received awards including the 2022 Junior Researcher Prize from the French Chemical Society and multiple fellowships. His work spans molecular catalyst design, electrochemical mechanisms, and interdisciplinary approaches combining spectroscopy and computational modeling.
