Trine Flockchart

Trine Flockchart serves as Professor of International Relations in the Department of Political Science and Public Management at the University of Southern Denmark. She concurrently holds leadership positions as Co-Director of the SDU Center for War Studies and Chair of Business and Social Science for the Danish Institute for Advanced Study (DIAS), with prior academic appointments spanning Denmark, the United Kingdom, and Australia. Her visiting fellowships include the European University Institute in Florence (2022) and The Transatlantic Academy at the German Marshall Fund (2013-14).

Her research investigates global order dynamics with emphasis on liberal international order crises, NATO/transatlantic relations, ontological security, and resilience through constructivist and English School theoretical frameworks. This manifests in over 100 publications across top-tier journals including Review of International Studies and European Journal of International Relations, characterized by interdisciplinary analysis of power transitions and governance adaptation.

She currently directs the Independent Research Denmark-funded project 'Anticipating Governance in the Multi-Order World' (AGMOW), examining resilience-governance interactions across US-led, Chinese-led, Russian-led, and transnational orders through autonomous weapons, global health, and climate change policy lenses.
