Treva Barham

Dr. Treva Barham serves as Assistant Professor of Counselor Education and Program Director for the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program within East Texas Baptist University's School of Natural and Social Sciences. As a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S), she brings 21 years of combined experience in higher education and diverse clinical settings including community mental health centers, university counseling services, private practice, non-profit organizations, and medical clinics.

Her academic credentials include:

• Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from East Texas Baptist University
• Master of Arts in Family Psychology from Hardin-Simmons University
• Doctor of Philosophy in Counselor Education from the University of the Cumberlands

Dr. Barham specializes in trauma-informed care across multiple populations including veterans transitioning from military service, first responders, and women experiencing post-partum challenges. Her clinical expertise extends to children, adolescents, adults, aging adults, couples, and families with particular focus on rehabilitation applications for veterans as explored in her doctoral dissertation.

As an ETBU alumna, she emphasizes practical training for counselors-in-training to serve community needs. Her professional approach integrates faith-based perspectives with evidence-based practices while maintaining active clinical supervision credentials.
