His research focuses on the communication of identities, particularly at the intersections of gender/sexuality, health, technology, and media. He explores how cultural narratives shape perceptions of LGBTQ+ communities, disability, and technological users. His work bridges critical-cultural theory, social movements, and public communication.
His recent scholarly output centers on LGBTQ+ and feminist alliances, technopathologies, and media discourse. These works reveal a consistent theme: how communication constructs social norms, pathologizes users, and shapes political and cultural identities. His interdisciplinary approach spans communication, cultural studies, gender theory, and science and technology studies.
Notable recognition includes the 2020 LGBT Book Award from the National Communication Association for Gay Men and Feminist Women in the Fight for Equality.
