Dr. Tracy J. Stewart is an Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work within the College of Liberal Arts at Hawai'i Pacific University (HPU). An Alaska Native (Unangax/Aleut) with ancestral roots in the Aleutian Islands, she brings a culturally grounded, community-centered approach to mental health and wellness.

Dr. Stewart's research and practice focus on improving mental health and wellness outcomes in rural and Indigenous communities. She is committed to reducing health disparities through community-based, holistic models of care that integrate Indigenous knowledge and Western psychology.
Her professional experience includes clinical roles in college counseling centers, integrative health clinics, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, and Tribal healthcare settings. Prior to joining HPU, she contributed to a non-profit Tribal healthcare organization in Alaska, where she played a key role in writing, securing, and managing grants for a Food Sovereignty program serving the Aleutian and Pribilof Islands.
Dr. Stewart's work reflects a strong dedication to health equity, community empowerment, and culturally sustaining practices in social work and psychology.
