Tracey Redfern

Tracey Redfern is a Professor of Trumpet at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM), where she also graduated with a BMus (Hons), Professional Performers Diploma, and Postgraduate Diploma. She is a distinguished soloist and principal trumpet with Manchester Camerata, maintaining a dynamic freelance career with orchestras such as the Hallé, BBC Philharmonic, and Opera North.

Her affiliations include tutoring positions at RNCM, Chetham’s School of Music, and Junior RNCM. Tracey has performed concertos with renowned orchestras and received scholarships throughout her academic studies.

As an active member of the Hallé Brass Quintet, she combines performance excellence with pedagogical leadership. Her accolades include prestigious awards like the Goronwy Evans Memorial Prize and the Harry Mortimer Award.
