Tracee W. Mason is an Instructor at Florida A&M University (FAMU), affiliated with the College of Social Sciences, Arts, and Humanities and the Department of English and Modern Languages. She holds an M.A. in Media and Communication Studies from Florida State University (2010), an M.A. in Mass Communication from the University of Minnesota (2002), and a B.S. in Journalism from FAMU (1996). Her academic career spans roles including Associate Instructor (2024–present), Instructor (2013–2024), and Visiting Instructor (2012–2013).
Her research focuses on Public Speaking, Race and Culture in Communication, and Emotional Intelligence. Notable presentations include studies on Black women’s perceptions of online dating (2019), North Florida’s Negro Fort preservation (2018), and #Gamergate controversies (2017). Mason has received awards such as the Distinguished Scholars Award and the Life-Gets-Better Scholarship.
She teaches courses in Public Speaking (SPC 2608), Foundations of Speech (SPC 1017), and Language Skills for Media Professionals (JOU 1040E). Office hours are held in Tucker Hall Rm. 410, with hybrid availability (in-person and online).
