Tonya Cullen

Dr Tonya Cullen serves as a Lecturer in Human Resource Management within the Department of Management, Leadership and Marketing at Ulster University Business School, Ulster University. She maintains dual campus affiliations at Belfast (Room ML013B, 2-24 York Street) and Magee Campus (Northlands Road, Londonderry).

Her research specializes in Human Resource Management frameworks applied to digital youth work contexts, particularly focusing on marginalized young populations. Key interests include leadership development in digital environments, management strategies for social inclusion, and connected learning methodologies. This specialization is evidenced by her direct involvement in European collaborative research addressing systemic barriers for at-risk youth.

Dr Cullen functioned as Co-Investigator for the funded project Prompting Quality Digital Youth Work through the creation/mapping of Connected Learning Routes in Europe (March 2019–December 2021), which developed innovative outreach pathways for marginalized youth under Principal Investigator Bradley-McCauley, L. with Loane, S. as fellow Co-Investigator. The project exemplifies her commitment to translating academic research into practical youth engagement solutions.
