Tom Wine is a Professor of Music Education and Area Coordinator in the School of Music at Wichita State University's College of Fine Arts. He serves as Director of the WU Choir and Shocker Choir, and leads the Chancel Choir at Eastminster Presbyterian Church. His expertise includes choral conducting and music education advocacy.
He has received notable awards, including the 2009 WSU President's Distinguished Service Award and the 2009 Burton Pell Award. Wine has directed choirs at state music conferences across multiple states and led European tours with the Kansas Ambassadors. His choirs performed David N. Childs' 'Requiem' at Carnegie Hall.
Wine edited the book Composers on Composing for Choir and previously served as President of the Kansas American Choral Directors Association. His professional activities include conducting honor choirs nationally and fostering collaborative arts initiatives.
