Tom H. Hastings

Tom H. Hastings, Ed.D., is a full-time Professor in the Conflict Resolution Graduate Program at Portland State University. He serves on the Governing Council of the International Peace Research Association (IPRA), the boards of the IPRA Foundation, Oregon Peace Institute, and the Academic Advisory Board of the International Center on Nonviolent Conflict.

• Past co-chair of the Peace and Justice Studies Association
• Former Plowshares resister and founding member of two Catholic Worker communities

His research focuses on nonviolence, peacebuilding, and conflict transformation. He has authored multiple books and articles on these topics and resides at Whitefeather Peace House. He is also involved in governance roles for peace-focused academic organizations.
