Tom Bailey

Dr Tom Bailey is an LSE Fellow in Political Philosophy at the Department of Government, London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). His research focuses on Kant’s political philosophy, particularly reinterpreting The Doctrine of Right to emphasize political judgment over institutional schemes or rights. He explores how historical political thought informs modern debates, developing a Kantian framework for understanding political practices encompassing collaboration, solidarity, conflict, and resistance. Bailey teaches the history of political theory at LSE and serves as Head Class Teacher for the University of London's Online Undergraduate Programmes in Economics, Management, Finance, and Social Sciences.
