Todd Rappold

Todd Rappold serves as Adjunct Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Education at Wittenberg University, joining the institution in August 2025. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses while supervising student teachers from Blair Hall 219.

His educational background includes a Ph.D. from the University of Dayton, M.A. from Wright State University, and B.A. from Bowling Green State University. With over 34 years of experience in Ohio public education, Rappold previously served as school superintendent for nearly 20 years, middle school principal, athletic director, coach, and classroom teacher in the Springfield City School District.

Rappold's research and teaching emphasize active learning methodologies through hands-on activities, project-based work, and integrated curriculum design. His philosophy centers on reconstructing knowledge through diverse experiences while fostering environments where mistakes become learning opportunities. He currently instructs the Emerging Leaders Course at Upper Valley Career Center focusing on Leadership, Team Building, Change Management, and Conflict Management.

Professional contributions include adjunct appointments at Ashland University and University of Dayton. His career trajectory reflects a commitment to 'paying forward' the support he received as a struggling high school student, now mentoring educators across three Ohio school districts.
