Todd Heldreth

Todd Heldreth is a Professor of Biology at Columbia Southern University, where he has worked since 2006. He combines academic work with veterinary consultation at the Charles Towne Landing Animal Forest, a zoo. His expertise spans veterinary medicine, wildlife biology, and reproductive biology.

• Education: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine (1984-1988); BS in Biology from Emory and Henry College (1980-1984)

Dr. Heldreth focuses on student advising for pre-veterinary programs and wildlife biology research. His work includes studies on primate endocrinology, as evidenced by his 2013 publication in the Journal of Medical Primatology. He has received recognition for his teaching excellence, including the 2014 South Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities Excellence in Teaching award.
