Tobias Rudolph

Prof. Tobias Rudolph is an Endowed Professor for Geomonitoring in Old and Post-Mining at the Georg Agricola University of Applied Sciences in Bochum. He leads the 'Geoengineering and Post-Mining' Master’s program and the Post-Mining Research Center. Previously, he held roles at Uniper Energy Storage GmbH, Shell International, and the University of Münster. His research focuses on innovative geomonitoring methods, remote sensing, AI applications in mining, and closure strategies for post-mining sites.

Education includes a Doctorate in Natural Sciences (2002) and a Geology degree from the University of Münster (1997–2002). He has extensive industry experience in production geology and academic lecturing. Active in professional societies such as the German Mine Surveyors Association (DMV), DGMK, and AAPG, he participates in committees addressing old mining issues and geoinformation valorization.

Research interests emphasize cutting-edge technologies like 4D monitoring, drone-based leak detection, and satellite analytics for risk management. His work bridges technical innovation with social aspects like community acceptance and environmental governance.
