Tobias Cibis

Tobias Cibis is a Lecturer at the School of Computer Science, Faculty of Engineering and IT, University of Technology Sydney. His research bridges biomedical engineering, computational modeling, and information systems in extreme environments.

Research interests include computational modeling of physiological systems, health monitoring in extreme environments (scuba diving, space), and data engineering platforms. His work focuses on sensor development, decompression algorithms, and resilience frameworks.

Recent publications examine biomedical monitoring technologies, decompression illness modeling, and physiological adaptation in extreme environments. He co-edited the Springer Nature book Engineering and Medicine in Extreme Environments.

He is affiliated with the Australian Artificial Intelligence Institute (AAII) and the UTS Research Centre. He supervises Masters and PhD students in fields related to biomedical engineering and extreme environment informatics.
