Dr. Tisha Greene is a Clinical Associate Professor and Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education & Teacher Preparation in the Cato College of Education at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She holds a BA in English and MA in English Education from UNC Charlotte, and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Wingate University. Prior to her academic career, she served as an elementary school principal, central office administrator, and high school teacher.
Research Focus: Dr. Greene investigates strategies for sustaining teachers and leaders of color in high-needs schools, with emphasis on mentorship efficacy, minority educator retention, and systemic equity in K-12 education. Her work bridges leadership development and social justice in educational systems.
Honors:
- 2017: Outstanding Administrator in Science Mathematics and Technology Education (NC SMT Center)
Leadership Engagement: Contributed to the 2015 Charlotte-Mecklenburg Opportunity Task Force addressing socioeconomic mobility through education reform. Oversees teacher preparation programs and undergraduate initiatives in the College of Education.
