Tine Destrooper is Professor of Transitional Justice at Ghent University's Faculty of Law and Criminology and director of Justice Visions. Her ERC-funded research examines victim engagement in transitional justice processes.
Current projects include:
- Cross-case analysis of documentation in transitional justice
- Human rights accountability mechanisms
- Transitional justice in aparadigmatic contexts
She coordinates the inter-university project 'Future-proofing human rights' exploring thicker accountability frameworks. Fieldwork encompasses Chile, Guatemala, Tunisia, DRC, and Cambodia.
Honors include multiple ERC grants, Fulbright Fellowship, Marie Curie Fellowship, and memberships in the Flemish Young Academy and Flemish Human Rights Institute.
