Timothy X. Troy is the J. Thomas and Julie E. Hurvis Professor of Theatre and Drama at Lawrence University. His roles include teaching acting, directing, script analysis, and playwrighting. He has received the Freshman Studies Teaching Prize and a Fulbright Award for work in Ireland. Troy’s research explores how social forces shape family relationships and societal visions, with a focus on intercultural exploration through theatre.
Education: B.A., Lawrence University; M.F.A., University of Iowa.
Research & Teaching: Specializes in playwrighting addressing social themes, and courses like Start-up Theatre (Innovation & Entrepreneurship) and Ireland’s Deep Time (Environmental Studies). His work emphasizes cross-cultural learning through programs like the Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin and Lawrence’s London Centre.
