Timothy R Whisler, PhD, is a Visiting Associate Professor of Business & Enterprise and Chair of the Business and Enterprise Division at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown (UPJ), where he joined in 2019. He holds a BA from Millersville University, an MA from Penn State University, and a PhD (1992) from the University of London. Prior to UPJ, he spent three decades as a professor and administrator at Saint Francis University, Loretto, PA, earning teaching awards. His expertise spans macroeconomics, economic and business history, and the history of Britain, Europe, and the Middle East. He employs a Socratic teaching method, encouraging students to analyze real-world applications of economic theories. His research focuses on business and economic history, including British industrial decline (inspired by his 1972 MGB sports car), and the global automobile industry.
