Dr. Timothy Jones is an Assistant Professor of Music at Wichita State University and Associate Concertmaster of the Wichita Symphony Orchestra. He holds a doctorate in Performance from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil) and has extensive experience in orchestral leadership and music education. His roles include teaching violin, directing chamber ensembles, and advocating for accessible music education in rural communities.

Research interests focus on integrating chamber music into pedagogy, Baroque performance traditions, and innovative educational programs like the Strings, Kansas! initiative. He has collaborated in cross-continental projects and performed rarely staged works in Brazil, such as Szymanowski’s Mythes.
Teaching spans K-12 (Wichita Public Schools) and higher education (Azusa Pacific University, Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul). He co-created educational programs centered on Shostakovich’s String Quartet No. 8 and led Baroque ensemble projects in Brazil.
