Timothy Jones is the Deputy Principal and Professor at the Royal Academy of Music (RAM), part of the University of London. He oversees educational, artistic, research, and international relations at RAM. Born in Cardiff, he studied Music at Christ Church, Oxford, earning a DPhil in analytical studies of Mozart’s piano concertos. His career spans 30 years in higher education, with roles at Oxford colleges, the University of Exeter, and the Royal Northern College of Music.
His research focuses on Viennese classical music, Schenkerian analysis, and Mozart’s late style, including completing over 70 of Mozart’s unfinished works.
