Timothy Fawkes

Timothy Fawkes serves as Adjunct Lecturer and Director of Orchestra at the University of Illinois Chicago's School of Theatre and Music, where he teaches MUS 157 (University Orchestra) and MUS 498 (Advanced Music Ensembles). With over twenty years of teaching experience, he concurrently directs music programs at Glenbard East High School, overseeing three orchestra levels, guitar instruction, and co-curricular ensembles. Under his leadership, Glenbard East orchestras have presented at the Illinois Music Education Conference and collaborated with professional artists.

His career includes positions with The Philadelphia Orchestra's education programs, conducting roles with Dallas Wind Symphony, and presidency of Illinois ASTA. As performing musician, he plays trumpet in soul band Midnight Hour. He holds a Master of Music in Conducting from University of Texas at Austin and Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Northwestern University.
