Professor Timothy Altman of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke teaches trumpet and conducting while directing the Wind Ensemble and Concert Band. He served as Department Chair for a decade.
Education:
- Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Trumpet Performance from the University of Kentucky
- Music Education degrees from Virginia Tech and the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater
Research Areas: His expertise spans trumpet performance, orchestral conducting, commissioning contemporary compositions, and Baroque music interpretation. He has taught at all levels of music education across Virginia, Wisconsin, Kentucky, and North Carolina.

Performance & Collaborations: Altman performs with the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra and Carolina Philharmonic. He is also a Yamaha Artist.
