Timothy Drake

Dr. Timothy Drake is an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership, Policy, and Human Development at North Carolina State University. His research focuses on policies and practices influencing school leader effectiveness, particularly in areas such as data-driven decision making, early childhood education leadership, and school turnaround strategies. He serves as Program Coordinator for the Educational Evaluation and Policy Analysis Concentration and actively contributes to state-level committees like the Principal Pipeline Working Group and the North Carolina Professors of Educational Leadership. Dr. Drake holds a Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University and has authored numerous studies on principal preparation, leadership development, and educational equity.

His educational background includes a B.A. in History Teaching from Brigham Young University (2007), an M.Ed. in International Education Policy and Management from Vanderbilt (2011), and a Ph.D. in Education Leadership and Policy Studies from Vanderbilt (2015). His teaching includes courses such as ELP 550 Principles of Educational Leadership and ED 710 Quantitative Methods in Education I.
