Timothy Arment

Timothy Arment is an artist and animator serving as the Digital Futures Fellow (2023-2025) at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville within the College of Architecture and Design. Based in Knoxville, TN, he employs cutting-edge software and technology to investigate the boundaries of reality and perception through his fine art practice, bridging interdisciplinary connections between art, technology, and design.

His academic credentials include:

• Bachelor of Fine Arts in Printmaking from the University of Alabama in Huntsville
• Master of Arts and Master of Fine Arts from the University of Wisconsin, Madison with concentrations in digital art, 3D animation, and VR game design

Arment's research critically engages immersive technologies through three core pillars: AR/VR/XR development explores sensory manipulation in digital environments; video game and simulation design creates interactive narrative frameworks; and scientific animation transforms complex data into accessible visual experiences. His work consistently challenges conventional perceptions of physical reality while advancing technical methodologies in digital media creation, often incorporating experimental approaches to virtual embodiment and spatial cognition.
