Jason Jamerson

Jason Jamerson serves as an Assistant Professor at Louisiana State University's College of Art & Design with a joint appointment spanning the School of Art and School of Theatre. His departmental affiliation is Art and Digital Art, where he teaches courses in film production, animation, game design, visual effects, and digital asset creation within LSU's academic structure.

His educational foundation includes a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) from the University of Arizona’s School of Theatre, Film, and Television. This advanced degree underpins his technical and creative expertise in digital media production.

Dr. Jamerson's research operates at the convergence of experiential narrative and cutting-edge digital technologies, with concentrated expertise in virtual production pipelines, extended reality (XR) environments, and AI-assisted production design methodologies. His scholarly focus centers on computer simulations of digital environments specifically engineered for media creation and design workflows, emphasizing how emerging tools like game engines and virtual film studios transform storytelling practices. He actively cultivates artist development through authentic narrative exploration within rapidly evolving technological landscapes.

Prior academic and professional experience includes eleven years in New York City as a production designer, assistant designer, and VFX specialist, followed by three years teaching scenic design and virtual production in Nebraska where he chaired the New Paradigm Media Committee.
