Tim Middleton is a Tutorial Fellow in Theology and Director of the Centre for Baptist Studies at Regent's Park College, University of Oxford. He holds doctorates in Theology and Earth Sciences from Oxford and is affiliated with the Laudato Si’ Research Institute as a Research Affiliate. His research explores intersections of theology, religion, and environmental science, focusing on ecotheology, trauma theology, and the Anthropocene. Previously, he held roles at St Anne’s College Oxford, the University of Roehampton, Ripon College Cuddesdon, and was a Junior Research Fellow in Religion and the Frontier Challenges at Pembroke College Oxford.

Research Interests: Dr. Middleton investigates religious responses to ecological crises, nonhuman suffering in mass extinction, and theological perspectives on deep time. He employs trauma theology frameworks to address climate change and biodiversity loss. His work bridges environmental humanities with Christian ecotheology.
