Tim McAndrews is a Professor of Archaeology at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (UW-L), serving as Chair of the Department of Archaeology & Anthropology and Director of the Mississippi Valley Archaeology Center. He teaches courses on Andean archaeology, the rise of complex societies, theory and history of archaeology, and biological anthropology.

He has conducted fieldwork in regions like Moquegua (Peru) and Cochabamba (Bolivia) to study Tiwanaku's socio-political influence.
Academic Engagement: McAndrews actively involves undergraduates in international field schools, including trips to Cochabamba, Bolivia, and the United Kingdom (Galway, Ireland; London, England) for immersive courses on urban origins and world archaeology.
