Katherine Stevenson

Katherine Stevenson, a researcher in the Department of Archaeology & Anthropology at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, serves as the Operations Manager of the Mississippi Valley Archaeology Center (MVAC) since its founding in 1982. With a PhD in Anthropology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, her work focuses on the Upper Midwest, particularly the Driftless area and Upper Mississippi Valley.

Her research interests include:

• Wisconsin and Midwestern archaeology
• Cultural Resource Management (CRM)
• Subsistence and faunal analysis
• Mortuary site issues
• Collections management
