Tim Liptrap

Tim Liptrap is an Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship and Sport Management and serves as Chair of Entrepreneurship at Nichols College. With a rich background in both entrepreneurial ventures and professional tennis, he brings real-world experience into the classroom, focusing on applied learning in sales, digital marketing, and small business development.

His research and teaching emphasize practical solutions for business challenges, particularly in e-commerce and website design. He frequently collaborates with students on class projects that simulate real business environments, often leading to internships and career opportunities in the sports and business industries.

Dr. Liptrap has been recognized as a Top 40 Under 40 by Tennis Industry Magazine for his contributions to the field. His industry experience includes leadership roles at World TeamTennis and the United States Tennis Association (USTA), where he managed national marketing initiatives.

Dr. Liptrap's career began with entrepreneurial activities in youth paper delivery and evolved into a paddleboat rental business during college, laying the foundation for his lifelong engagement with business innovation and education.
