Tijen Roshko

Tijen Roshko is an Associate Professor in the Department of Interior Design at the University of Manitoba's Faculty of Architecture. Her research bridges physics, urban studies, and design pedagogy, focusing on informal settlements, bio-design, and interdisciplinary teaching. She holds a BSc in Physics from Middle East Technical University (Turkey) and an MSc in Physics from the University of Manitoba, alongside a BID from the same institution.

Research Interests: Her work examines urbanization in Ankara, Turkey (focusing on informal settlements and governance), vernacular architecture in Cambodia, and bio-design methodologies. She collaborates with physics and biological sciences departments to integrate science into design education.

Grants and Collaborations: Received SSHRC funding for field studies in Cambodia. Collaborates with Faculty of Science and Arts to develop interdisciplinary teaching platforms. Active in pedagogical research on intelligent materials and bio-design applications.
