Prof. Tiffany Morrison is a Professor in the Environmental Policy Group at Wageningen University & Research. Her work integrates political science, public administration, geography, and ecology to address complex environmental governance challenges. She focuses on climate-impacted systems, policy responses to warming ecosystems, and interdisciplinary collaboration with governments, NGOs, and funders.
Educated at the University of Queensland (PhD, 2004), she has held academic roles at Flinders University, the University of Queensland, James Cook University, and the University of Melbourne. Notable projects include leading the Defend or Retreat? interdisciplinary team (2008–2015) and co-leading the People and Ecosystems Program at the ARC Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies (2015–2022).
Currently, she leads the internationally funded Governing Environmental Change project (2022–2025) and serves on high-profile advisory committees, including Australia’s Reef 2050 Expert Panel. Her research has been published in top journals like Nature and PNAS, and featured globally in media such as The Guardian and Le Monde.
Prof. Morrison is an Associate Editor of npj Climate Action and contributes to editorial boards of Global Environmental Change and Earth System Governance. She has held visiting appointments at Stanford University, the University of Oregon, Kyoto University, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
