Thomas Preibisch

Prof. Dr. Thomas Preibisch is a Professor for Astronomy at the Universitäts-Sternwarte München (USM), part of the Faculty of Physics at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. He leads the Young Stars & Star Formation Group and focuses on the study of protoplanetary disks, star formation processes, and the feedback effects of massive stars on surrounding environments.

• Key research areas include X-ray and infrared observations of young stellar clusters, the evolution of protoplanetary disks, and triggered star formation in OB associations.
• He is involved in major projects such as the Twinkle space mission (since 2021) and the DFG Research Unit FOR 2634/1, which investigates transition disks and planet formation.
