Thierry Mayer is a Professor of Economics at Sciences Po since 2009 and served as Head of the Department from 2019 to 2023. He is a scientific advisor at CEPII and a research fellow at CEPR’s International Trade/Regional Economics program. His research focuses on international trade, economic geography, and multinational firms, with notable contributions on trade policy impacts, market integration, and migration economics. He has received prestigious awards including the CNRS Bronze Medal and an ERC Starting Grant.
Education: PhD in Economics from the University of Paris I (2000), awarded the AFSE Best Thesis Prize. Prior roles include Professor at the University of Paris I-Paris School of Economics (PSE).
