Theresa Nink

Theresa Nink is a Research Fellow in Musicology at the University of Siegen, where she researches sentimental ballads in popular music cultures. She previously curated exhibitions on music-politics relationships at Haus der Geschichte Bonn and contributes to the sub-project 'Low Pop: The Sentimental Ballad'.

Her research examines how sentimentality functions in global pop music contexts, with particular attention to gender representations in metal ballads and protest songs. Current projects analyze affective dimensions of popular music across cultural boundaries.

Nink organizes cultural events including the Week-End Festival and Brückenmusik, and co-edits the fanzine Grapefruits, blending academic research with public music engagement.
