Taylor S. O. Drake

Taylor S. O. Drake is a Professor in the Department of Christian Studies at Southwestern Christian University (SCU), hired in 2020. He holds a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from SCU. His research focuses on Kierkegaardian Philosophy and Theology, Pentecostalism in Homiletics and Hermeneutics, and the intersection of Apologetics with Pentecostalism. He teaches courses such as Old Testament, Major Prophets, Romans, Hermeneutics, Church History, and Pentecostal History and Polity.

Professional affiliations include Theta Alpha Kappa, Wesleyan Theological Society (WTS), Society for Pentecostal Studies (SPS), and the Kierkegaard Society USA. His mission emphasizes helping students interpret their world and experiences, rooted in his favorite Bible verse: Ecclesiastes 1:2 (NRSVUE).

Dr. Drake’s personal interests span reading, poetry, sushi, anime, and the works of Chesterton and Le Guin. He is based in Durant, OK, and can be reached at LLC 254 during office hours 8:30am-3:00pm.
